Gift Ideas for Kitchen Lovers

July 12, 2010 – 7:05 pm

It sometimes seems as though the pursuit of gifts is endless, doesn’t it?  Well, actually, for many of us, it is.  After all, there are a host of occasions throughout the year when we’re in gift giving mode.  And there are also a host of different people in our lives that we need to buy those gifts for.

What to buy, what to buy, what to buy.  It can be an endless refrain.  Well, here are a few ideas that might be of help.  At least if you have someone on your gift list that loves to spend their time in the kitchen.

First off, kitchen appliances.  No, not a fridge or stove, but all those small appliances that make meal preparation so much easier.  And the best part is, there’s a huge selection to choose from.  Food processors, full size or mini.  Ice cream makers – yum!  Sandwich grills or waffle irons.  Blenders, big and small.  Espresso makers or a cool kettle.  Toasters, juicers and the list goes on.

Next, why not think about cookware?  Every chef knows the importance of quality pots and pans.  And again, you have a large selection to choose from.  Does your loved one have a favourite celebrity chef?  Chances are, they might have a line of cookware.  Or how about those who are environmentally conscious?  You can find eco-friendly cookware for them.

Speaking of celebrity chefs, how about one of their cookbooks?  Even though you can find the recipe for anything you want on the internet, there are still a lot of people that love to have good old fashioned hard cover cookbooks in hand.  And again, you can find a cookbook on just about any type of food  there is.

How about a quality knife?  You can choose from a variety of types from fairly inexpensive to something that can cost quite a bit of money, but a good knife is something that can last a long time.  And if you decide to go that route, you could round out the gift with a great cutting board and a knife sharpener as well.

Is that it?  No.  These few things that I have mentioned barely scratch the surface of what you can buy for a kitchen lover.  And think of this.  It’s said that there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.  If you give someone a kitchen gift, you may be on the receiving end of some culinary delight because of it.  How happy will that make you?
